Didn't get the offer? Keep your name on the hiring manager's mind by sending a follow-up letter immediately after you hear the bad news and again within several months. Reiterate your interest in joining the team, and ask for your resume to be kept on file for future opportunities. If the person hired doesn't work out, the employer will remember your professionalism and enthusiasm for the position.
